Dah Ken Industrial bicycle front suspension forks
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
About 3,300 bicycle front suspension forks made by Dah Ken Industrial Co. Ltd. and sold by RST USA have been recalled because they can break apart while in use, causing riders to lose control and suffer serious injuries. The recalled Hi-5 and Hi-5 MOZO forks, sold between February 1997 and October 1998 for about $400, were available in red, dark gray, purple, yellow, orange, and silver colors and came with stickers reading "RST Hi-5" or "RST Hi-5 MOZO" on both fork legs. These forks were sold by authorized RST USA dealers nationwide and were also installed on Haro, GT, Giant, and Marin bicycles. The CPSC is aware of two reports of these forks breaking apart during use, resulting in injuries including broken noses, facial abrasions, lacerations, and broken teeth.
According to the recall notice, consumers should stop riding bicycles equipped with these recalled suspension forks immediately. However, because RST USA, the firm conducting the recall, is out of business, replacement forks are no longer available, and the source does not specify an alternative remedy for affected consumers.
