Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Irwin Sports of Toronto, Ontario recalled approximately 8,400 faceguards for model CL87 baseball catchers' combination helmet and faceguard units. The faceguard could be adjusted too low on the helmet, potentially allowing a baseball to pass through and cause serious facial or head injuries. The company received two reports of facial injuries related to misadjustment of the faceguard. The recalled product consists of a wire faceguard attached to either a red, navy, royal, or black helmet printed with "Cooper - Made in Canada - CL87" on both sides and a white warning label on the back stating "Little League Approved - CL87." These combination units were sold nationwide through sporting goods stores from October 1995 through May 1996 for approximately $35 each.
Since Irwin Sports is no longer in business and no remedy is available, consumers who own the CL87 combination helmet/faceguard should destroy or discard the product immediately and stop using it.
