What happened

Hedstrom Corporation sold approximately 180,000 metal and wood backyard gym sets nationwide beginning in 1994 that included a red or yellow plastic Star Cruiser two-passenger swing, identified by the name "Star Cruiser" molded on the front below the handle. The swing posed a potential flip-over hazard that could cause children to be injured while using it, though Hedstrom was not aware of any injuries at the time of the recall.

Hedstrom Corporation is now out of business and a modification program that was originally offered is no longer available. According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the Star Cruiser swing and discard or destroy the product to prevent injuries.
