Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Tange, Inc. is recalling 808 EXP 120 front suspension forks sold by Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) as part of 1995 Novara Ponderosa mountain bikes between October 1994 and November 1995. The fork crown can crack during use, potentially causing the fork to separate from the bicycle and causing riders to lose control and fall, which could result in serious injury or death. Although no injuries have been reported to date, the silver-gray forks can be identified by "Tange EXP 120 Suspension" decals on the front sides of the fork legs.
Consumers who own affected bicycles should stop using them immediately and contact REI customer service at (800) 828-5533. REI and Tange will provide a replacement Manitou suspension fork at no charge and supply information about free installation.
