What happened

Oriental Trading Company is recalling ceramic banks due to excessive lead content in the yellow surface paint, which violates federal law. The recalled items include a pig-shaped piggy bank painted yellow with floral designs and a lion-shaped bank painted yellow with a brown mane. Both banks measure approximately 4 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width, and 3.5 inches in height. Only yellow banks with black plastic stoppers on the bottom are affected; banks with white or translucent stoppers are not included in the recall.

Lead in paint poses a health hazard, particularly for children. Affected consumers should immediately remove these recalled banks from children's reach, discard them, and contact Oriental Trading Company for information about obtaining a refund or credit.

The banks measure about 4 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width, and 3.5 inches in height. Only yellow banks with black plastic stoppers in the bottoms of the banks are being recalled. Banks with white or translucent stoppers are not being recalled.
