What happened

Mattel has voluntarily recalled the Disney Poppin' Sounds Pull Train toy due to a choking hazard involving small balls housed in a dome on the toy's smokestack. Consumers reported that the toy could break, allowing the small balls to become accessible to children. Approximately 400,000 of these pull-toy trains were sold nationwide in 1990 and 1991, though Mattel found no product failures in safety testing of 16,500 units and has received no injury reports.

According to the record, affected consumers should return the toy to Nancy Nelson, Mattel Consumer Affairs, 15930 East Valley Boulevard, City of Industry, CA 91744, in exchange for a $5.00 voucher. Consumers can call Mattel toll-free at 1-800-233-4004 for additional information about the recall.
