BISSELL Homecare Inc. and the CPSC are recalling specific models of BISSELL upright vacuums because the power cord insulation can tear where it connects to the vacuum, exposing bare wires and creating a risk of electrical shock and burns. The recall affects the BISSELL PowerClean™ model 3540-1 (black), BISSELL PureAir™ model 3540-2 (blue), BISSELL PureAir™ Deluxe model 3541 (purple), and BISSELL PureAir™ Platinum model 3541-P (purple). The recalled models lack a 3-inch plastic flex relief where the power cord enters the vacuum handle.
