Flying Copter flying helicopter toys
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Reeves International Inc. is recalling approximately 8,000 "Flying Copter" toy helicopters that were distributed between 1984 and 1986. The toy is a 7.5-inch plastic helicopter with three red rotor blades, a green launching handle, and a white body that retails for about $3.00. The product has been imported and marketed by multiple companies, and the CPSC is contacting each identified firm involved in its distribution.
The toy poses a laceration hazard because improper assembly can allow the rotor blades to separate and strike users or bystanders. The CPSC has investigated accidents in which the toy caused serious eye injuries and facial lacerations to both children and adults. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should discontinue use of the toy and return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. For additional information, consumers can contact the CPSC's toll-free hotline at 800-638-CPSC or use the teletypewriter number 800-633-8270 for the hearing impaired.
