Is my product affected?

  • Brand Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Polaris Industries is recalling certain 2004 model year ATVs sold as Scrambler 500 and Sportsman 400, 500, or 6x6 models due to defective Electronic Control Modules (ECM) that can overheat and create a fire and burn hazard. The affected ATVs are those that were previously serviced for electrical problems and received a defective ECM during that service work. The specific model numbers are listed on a decal on the front side of the radiator (for Sportsman models) or the top of the front cab cover (for Scrambler 500 models).

Registered owners of affected ATVs were notified of this recall by direct mail. Consumers should disconnect the negative (black) battery cable from the battery when the ATV is not in use and should contact their local Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair.
