Coffee Makers Recalled by Sears Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

What happened

Sears has recalled several Kenmore-brand coffee makers because wiring in the units can overheat, creating burn and fire hazards. The recall affects 12-cup Kenmore coffee makers in black (model 100.80006), white (model 100.81006), and red (model 100.82006), as well as 12-cup Kenmore Elite coffee makers with thermal carafe (model 100.90007) and 14-cup Kenmore Elite coffee makers (model 100.90006). The model number can be found on the bottom of the unit, and affected makers have a Kenmore or Kenmore Elite logo on the front bottom.

Consumers who own these coffee makers should stop using them immediately and take them to the nearest Sears or Kmart store for a free replacement.
