Beacon Products is recalling pendant-style outdoor streetlights installed by municipalities and developers because the coupling system securing the fixtures to lamp posts may fail, causing the lights to fall and injure people below. The recalled models include Cambridge, Capital, Coal Miner, Depot, F-10 Fitter, F-13 Fitter, F-21 Fitter, F-35 Fitter, Kings Park, Magna, Maritas, Miramar, Metropolis, Neptune, Pierwalk, Radial Wave, and Tivoli. These aluminum fixtures, which may have glass covers, are typically found along sidewalks and smaller avenues.
Persons responsible for maintaining outdoor lighting fixtures or streetlights should immediately cordon off the area underneath each fixture and contact Beacon to receive free retrofit kits. Beacon will also reimburse labor costs up to $50 per lighting fixture for the retrofitting work.
