What happened

Storm doors manufactured by New Cole Sewell Corp. between June 1, 1999, and August 16, 1999, are being recalled because they lack retaining pins in the upper windows. Without these pins, the upper window can fall out, potentially injuring people nearby.

To determine if a storm door is affected, consumers should locate the 15-digit registration number on the interior side of the door just below the lower left corner of the bottom window. The first six digits show the manufacturing date in month-day-year format, and the next five digits are the product number. The doors are white or bronze with a black push button handle.
