Swimways Corp. has recalled "Swim Ways Deluxe Dive Buddies" weighted dive sticks due to a hazard of impalement injuries. The recalled products are soft plastic tubes approximately 7.5 inches long and one inch in diameter, featuring character heads and feet in the designs of a yellow seahorse, green and purple walrus, red and blue underwater diver, and blue shark. The dive sticks have numbers on their backs indicating point values and came in cardboard-backed packaging showing an underwater scene with fish and coral.
Children can fall or land on these dive sticks in shallow water and suffer impalement injuries. According to the recall announcement, consumers should immediately take these dive sticks away from children and contact Swimways for information on receiving a refund or free replacement product.
