Is my product affected?

Buoyancy Compensators used for Scuba Diving

  • Brand Ocean Management Systems Inc., of Middletown, N.Y.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Ocean Management Systems has recalled multiple models of buoyancy compensators used in scuba diving because the seal ring on these devices could crack, creating a drowning hazard for divers. The recalled buoyancy compensators include various models such as the TACOPS® BC, Larry Green Signature Series, and several Single and Dual Bladder BC models, available in black or red. These devices control buoyancy by allowing divers to inflate or deflate them. The recalled products bear "OMS" printed on the front inside of the compensator, and specific serial numbers are included in this recall, which can be obtained from the company.

Consumers who own one of the recalled buoyancy compensators should immediately stop using the equipment and contact Ocean Management Systems to receive a free repair. The item and serial numbers are printed on the warning label located in the non-inflation area of the buoyancy compensator to help identify whether a specific device is included in the recall.
