What happened

Rapala is recalling the Lithium Lazer™ ice auger, a 24-pound black and red electric-powered tool used by ice fishermen to cut holes in ice. The tool is powered by a rechargeable 50-volt lithium ion battery and features two handles, a power switch, a trigger switch, and a drill. It is identified by the StrikeMaster Ice Augers logo on the front of the powerhead and the Lithium Lazer™ marking on top.

The trigger switch on the auger could fail and prevent the unit from turning off, creating an injury hazard. Consumers who own this product should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, or return it to Rapala either for a full refund or a $700 credit toward a new product on www.rapala.com.
