AP Specialties is recalling power bank chargers that can overheat when being charged or used to charge another device, creating a fire hazard. The affected power banks are rectangular units measuring approximately 3.6 inches long by 1 inch high by 1 inch wide with a white top and colored sides (black, dark blue, lime green, light blue, orange, pink, purple, red, white, or yellow). They have "OUT DC5V" and "IN DC5V" printed in black letters on the white top, though units with a period after this lettering are not affected. The charger name or promotional logo appears on the side.
Consumers who own an affected power bank should immediately stop using it and contact AP Specialties for a replacement. AP Specialties will provide an envelope and label with instructions for returning the power bank at no cost, and will send a replacement product once the recalled unit is received.

Upon receipt of the power bank, AP Specialties will send the consumer a replacement product.
Power Bank charger is a self-contained energy source used to charge cell phones and other devices when an electrical outlet is not available. The unit is rectangular in shape and measures approximately 3.6 inches long by 1 inch high by 1 inch wide. It has a white top and the sides are either black, dark blue, lime green, light blue, orange, pink, purple, red, white or yellow. On the white top of the charger in black letters are "OUT DC5V" and "IN DC5V". Units with a period after the lettering - reading "OUT DC5V." - are not involved in this recall. The name and/or logo of the organization that gave away the charger as a promotional item appears on the side of the power bank.
