What happened

Trek is recalling model year 2013 Madone bicycles with specific model numbers (5.2, 5.9, 6.2, 6.5, 7.7, or 7.9) and serial numbers starting with WTU and ending with G or H. The front brake on these bicycles can fail, creating a crash hazard. The bicycles were sold in various colors, and some were custom-ordered Project One models.

If you own an affected bicycle, you should immediately stop using it and take it to a Trek dealer for a free replacement front brake system. You can find a complete list of recalled serial numbers at www.trekbikes.com. The model number is printed on the bicycle frame, and the serial number is on a sticker underneath the frame.
