Gerber Legendary Blades Recalls Machetes Due to Laceration Hazard

What happened

Gerber is recalling the Gator Machete (approximately 25 1/2" long) and Gator Machete Jr. (approximately 18 3/4" long) with the original handle, marked with the "Gerber" trademark. The saw side of these machetes can stick in wood during use, and if a user's hand slips off the handle and slides forward across the blade, it poses a laceration hazard. The Gator Machete and Machete Jr. with a modified handle featuring an extended hand guard are not included in this recall.

Consumers who own the recalled machetes should stop using them immediately and contact Gerber to receive instructions on how to return the machete for a free replacement.
