Backcountry Access is recalling its Avalanche airbags in models Float 18, 22, 30, 32, 36 and Throttle because the trigger assembly can fail, which would prevent the airbag from deploying during an avalanche. These yellow airbags, housed in blue, red or black packs, are designed to keep users above the surface during an avalanche and are used for skiing, snowmobiling and mountain climbing. The affected products have "Float" and the "bca" logo printed in black lettering and include lot letters A through E, which can be identified on the trigger handle.
According to the recall notice, consumers who own affected airbags should immediately stop using them and contact BCA for a free replacement trigger assembly.
