Philips Lighting is recalling Endura 12-watt and Ambient 12.5-watt LED dimmable light bulbs due to a shock hazard. A lead wire in the bulb's housing can have an improper fitting, which can electrify the entire lamp. The recalled bulbs are orange in color and marked with "MADE IN CHINA" and model number 9290001829 on the gray plastic band around the neck. Date codes 2L appear on Endura bulbs and 2K or 2L appear on Ambient bulbs on the metal screw base.
According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled LED bulbs, unplug the fixture, remove the bulb, and contact Philips for free replacement bulbs.
