100-pound Propane Cylinders
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Manchester Tank & Equipment Company is recalling propane cylinders manufactured between January and September 2012 due to a fire hazard. Fuel can leak from the connection between the cylinder and valve, which poses a fire risk if exposed to an ignition source. The affected cylinders are gray 100-pound DOT propane cylinders measuring about 41 inches high and 15 inches in diameter, with "Manchester" and "WC238#" pressed into the collar. The manufacture date appears on the collar in month and year format (for example, "6*12" for June 2012). Manchester 100-pound propane cylinders with a green dot on the hand-wheel are not affected by this recall.
Consumers who have an affected cylinder should stop using it immediately. According to the recall notice, consumers should call Manchester or visit www.mantank.com and go to the "Distributors" page for instructions on having a qualified propane equipment dealer inspect and repair the cylinder if needed. The website lists propane equipment distributors, RV distributors, and retail distributors that can assist with inspections and repairs.
