Dorel Juvenile Group is recalling Eddie Bauer Rocking Wood Bassinets because the bottom locking mechanism can fail to lock properly if a spring is not installed during assembly. When the locking mechanism fails, the bassinet can tip to one side, causing infants to roll to the side of the bassinet and creating a suffocation hazard. The recall involves bassinets with model numbers 10632, 10639, 10832, 10835, 10839, and BT021. These bassinets feature dark brown wooden headboards and footboards with cotton bassinets in various colors and patterns, and have a dial at the base of the footboard that controls the rocking motion.
Consumers can find the model number under the mattress, on the top surface of the mattress support board, or on the wash and care label. According to the recall, affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bassinets and contact Dorel to obtain a free repair kit that includes a spring and new assembly instructions.
