Baby Seats Recalled for Repair by Bumbo International Due to Fall Hazard

Is my product affected?

Bumbo Baby Seats

  • Brand Bumbo International Trust, of South Africa

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Bumbo International is recalling baby seats due to a fall hazard, as babies can maneuver out of or fall from the seat, which may cause serious injuries. The Bumbo seat is a round, flat foam seat approximately 15 inches in diameter with leg holes and a wraparound back, marked with the word "Bumbo" and an elephant image on the front.

To address this hazard, consumers should immediately stop using the seat until they order and install a free repair kit containing a restraint belt with warning label, installation instructions, safe use instructions, and a new warning sticker. The restraint belt must always be used when a child is in the seat, and the seat should never be placed on any raised surface, even with the belt in use. Consumers should also discontinue use of any Bumbo seat covers that interfere with belt installation. Installation and proper use videos are available at www.BumboUSA.com.
