What happened

Westinghouse Lighting is recalling certain ceiling fans because the two 60-watt light bulbs included with them exceed the fans' maximum wattage capacity. This can cause the fans to overheat or fail, creating fire and shock hazards. The recall affects 24, 30, and 42-inch diameter ceiling fans in various finishes, identifiable by "Westinghouse" printed on the ceiling canopy and item numbers 72243, 78631, 72245, 78763, or 78764 printed on the motor housing.

Consumers who own one of these recalled ceiling fans should immediately stop using it and contact Westinghouse Lighting to receive two free replacement 40-watt light bulbs.
