Policy Check reads an insurance policy you upload and explains what it says. This page describes exactly what happens to that document and to anything you tell us.
The file itself is never stored. It is read in memory while we parse it and then discarded. There is no copy on our servers, nothing you could later download, and no link to share.
We do keep the parts we extract: your coverages and their limits, the exclusions, the notice and suit-limitation clauses, and similar terms, quoted as they appear. We keep them for one reason — if you ask us to connect you with an attorney, that is what gets passed on. The lawyer needs the policy language, and by then the document is gone.
If you never ask to be connected with anyone, nothing is sent to anyone, and the record is deleted on our normal schedule along with everything else from your visit.
Your description of what happened, what the insurer told you, and the state you selected are stored with the extracted policy terms and are treated the same way.
We ask for your name and email only at the point where you choose to be connected with an attorney, and only after you tick a box saying so. We store the exact wording you agreed to, so there is a record of what you were shown.
Referrals are non-exclusive: more than one firm may receive your information. Plaintify is paid by firms that subscribe to the platform, not per referral, and receives nothing that depends on whether you hire anyone.
Nothing you upload or type here goes into training an AI model.
We record a one-way hash of your IP address so that a small number of people cannot use up a free service. The hash cannot be turned back into your address.
Email privacy@plaintify.ai and we will delete what we hold. If your details have already gone to a firm, that firm holds its own copy under its own obligations, and you would need to ask them separately.
